Keep A Good Oral HygieneNothing can be more important than oral health.

Hundreds of bacteria inhabit in our mouth and once we weaken our oral hygiene they are ready to attack. And indeed these small organisms can cause serious dental problems and tooth diseases.

There are many tooth diseases caused by bacteria that may result in tooth loss.

Gum disease is one of the problems caused by bacteria inhabiting in the mouth cavity. It is also known as periodontal disease. Gum disease is the irritation of gum tissues because of the bacteria. When the gums weaken they can no longer support the tooth.

There are two types of gum diseases: gingivitis and periodontitis, both of them are to be treated seriously. Gingivitis is the beginning stage of periodontitis. Bacteria in plaque irritate the gums and cause bleeding and discomfort. However at this stage tissues are not that affected and the tooth position is stable. If left untreated gingivitis may turn into periodontitis. During this stage the bacteria spreads within the gum and toxins begin to destroy the bone tissues weakening tooth position.
