Hair loss is a common phenomenon. Normally, we loss about 100 hairs per day. There are numerous factors that contributes to the causes of hair loss like stress, hereditary reasons and diseases. However, you can combat hair loss with numerous hair loss treatment. You can fight back with the problem of hair loss if you know the reasons behind them.

Causes of Hair Loss

General causes: As it is already mentioned that hair loss occurs when the lifespan of a hair ends. After the next six months the place the replaced with new hair. Sometimes styling also contributes to hair loss like blow drying, shampooing and brushing. Aging is another factor that causes massive hair loss. It is said that after the age of 30, the replacement process diminishes due to age. In most of the time men suffers from hair loss at a much faster rate compared to women.

Hereditary causes: Abnormal genetic factors contribute to hair loss. One of the common genetic problem is the incapability to replace the hair loss occurring naturally. Thus, the gap is never filled up and in some of the extreme cases a person can go bald at a much younger age. The cause is further dependent by three factors like gender, age and hormone. It is seen that this genetic factor affects men more compared to women. Aging is another reason. Variations in hormone causes hair loss. Pattern baldness is linked with testosterone hormone.

Stress related causes: Stress can cause hair loss. Excessive emotional or physical stress generally contributes in two types of hair loss. The first type is telogen effluvium and is very severe. In this type the growth of the hair is stopped and lies dormant that falls after a long gap of three months. The replacement process also takes equally more time that might range from six to nine months. The other type is called alopecia areata where the white blood attacks on the follicles of the hair. The hair falls within patches, usually. But sometimes it involves the entire scalp and in extreme cases body hair. Though the hair grows back. But it is important to start with hair loss treatment as quickly as possible.

The use of birth control pill also contributes to hair loss as a side effects. If you are suffering from hair loss, you must act immediately by consulting a doctor.

How to care for colored hair

hemical hair treatment is often the only way to achieve a certain result, but it is widely known that procedures such as color treatment, hair perming or straightening do a great deal of damage to your precious locks. There is however something you can do to restore your hair’s health and maintain your new style or color.

Here are the basics of what you need to know about the most common chemical treatments:

How to care for colored hair

The alkaline products used in the coloring process (like most chemical treatments) lift the cuticle layer of the hair and leave it more porous then it is in a normal condition. This is needed for the color molecules to penetrate the hair shaft and to actually color the hair. Although the coloring is successful, the hair is still with raised cuticles. This is the cause for most hairs to feel rough and breakable after coloring. This process has also dried your hair a lot, so it is essential to reseal the cuticles in order to not only protect your new hair color, but to stop moisture loss and regain that silky smooth feel of your locks.
This can be done by using a moisturizing cream conditioner after dyeing. The hair conditioner moisturizes the hair and restores the cuticle layer’s normal condition. You should by all means do that if you plan to use bleaching agents to lighten the hair prior to the coloring procedure

If you have chosen to color your hair in red or golden shades, you probably already know how these vibrant colors tend to lose their richness and brightness faster than other hair colors. In this case you’ll need some extra protection. To keep your new color as long as possible use both color-enhancing/color-preserving shampoo and conditioner.
It is also recommended to deep condition your dyed hair once a week, to fully restore its moisture and compensate any damage from daily styling.

How to care for straightened or permed hair

Dyeing is not the only procedure that involves chemical treatment. Chemical straightening and permanent wave services are the other most common treatments that can greatly damage your hair’s structure. Moreover, they often tend to be more aggressive than any hair coloring and leave the hair more porous and vulnerable. Thus you need to take care of your straightened/permed hair even more. Needless to say it’s a killer combo if beside chemical texture services you also color your hair.

If your hair is very damaged, you’ll have to apply a protein-rich HAIR MASK or conditioner to enhance your hair’s structure, moisturize it and bring back its strength and elasticity. After that you’ll need to apply a good smoothing serum to seal the cuticle layer and make your hair as smooth and silky as it was before the texture service. We have already said that sealed cuticle layer keeps the moisture in.

As for the shampoo – it should be very gentle. If you can’t find a color-preserving shampoo, a baby shampoo is always a good alternative. Don’t shampoo your hair too often though – no matter how moisturizing your shampoo is, drying is inevitable and provokes over production of sebum. Thus use a shampoo only when hair is soiled. To hydrate and refresh it you can just apply rinse-through conditioner and use plenty of water to WASH away.

Hair Straightening Tips

Just like people go into great lengths to get their hair permed due to various reasons, similarly people with naturally curly hair go into great lengths to get their hair straightened. Amazingly on some faces, straight hair appear lifeless and on some faces, curly hair looks ugly and untidy. Therefore, straightening is equally well practiced as permanent waving. The common link between the two changes is their chemical involvement.

The practice of hair straightening involves two major steps:

  • It breaks the S (Sulphur) bonds and the N (Nitrogen) bonds in the cortex during the processing time which softens the hair.
  • The use of neutralizer works as a fixative which is necessary to restore the N and S bonds to rejoin the hair and make the hair acquire the desired straightness.

Due to the chemical involvement, the hair may get damaged. To avoid that, the first step should be to analyses the hair texture accurately.

The chemicals should never be allowed to penetrate the scalp. Therefore, it should be understood that the new growth at
the scalp would acquire the original curly nature. Since the maximum hair growth in a month is of about 3/4 of an inch, you needs to do hair straightened again. Straightening is the reverse of permanent waving, that means, in this process, you make the curly hair straight by using chemical straighteners. We should be very careful while using these chemicals because sometimes it goes wrong and the client may start losing hair, so always consult your client before you start.

Points to remember before hair straightening

  1. Texture of the hair.
  2. Length of the hair.

Procedure of hair straightening

  1. Shampoo the hair; conditioner can be used if the hair is chemically treated or damaged.
  2. Make straightening gel by mixing white flour (maida), perm lotion and conditioner to avoid dryness.
  3. Start from the back by taking horizontal sections.
  4. Make sure that the hair is tangle free and neat before you start putting the file board.
  5. Heavier the hair, smaller should be the section.
  6. Put gel on the board and comb it through. Gel should not touch the scalp.
  7. Leave the gel on for 10 to 40 minutes depending on the texture. Rinse it well by using pressure water for 10 to 40 minutes.
  8. The board will come out automatically with the pressure of the water.
  9. After rinsing, comb the hair straight and leave it for 10 to 15 minutes.
  10. Put the neutralizer on the hair for 10 to 15 minutes.
  11. Rinse the neutralizer; use conditioner and comb it.
  12. Always go for a cut after straightening to make the hair even. Always cut the hair at 0° angle to avoid layers. Straight cut is recommended for a much neater and healthier look.

This straightening procedure is safe on the hair as there is no pulling.

Post care for hair straightening

  1. Have a cut once a month or once in two months.
  2. Have a hot oil treatment done once a month.
  3. Use a serum is a must to avoid split ends and to provide shine to the hair.

Hair Nads Removal

Some information on Hairs:

Before removing hair, it helps to know about the different types of hair on our bodies. All hair is made of keratin , a hard protein that's also found in your fingernails and toenails. Hair growth begins beneath the surface of your skin at a hair root inside a hair follicle, a small tube in the skin. You have two types of hair on your body.

Vellus hair is soft, fine, and short. Most women have vellus hair on the chest, back, and face. It can be darker and more noticeable in some women than others - especially women with darker complexions. Vellus hair helps the body maintain a steady temperature by providing some insulation.
Terminal hair is coarser, darker, and longer than vellus hair and is the type of hair that grows on your head. When a teen reaches puberty, terminal hair starts to grow in the armpits and pubic region. On guys, terminal hair begins to grow on the face and other parts of the body such as the chest, legs, and back. Terminal hair provides cushioning and protection.

Why going for Hair Removal?

Many men and women choose to remove unwanted body hair for cosmetic, social, cultural, or medical reasons. Medical indications for hair removal include hirsutism, which is excess terminal hair in the distribution of hair growth influenced by androgens (ie, face, chest, back, abdomen), or hypertrichosis, which is congenital or drug-induced increase in hair growth in areas that are not androgen dependent. Other medical indications include pseudofolliculitis, hair growth from a grafted donor site, and sex-change operations performed in men.

Home recipe for hair nads removal

Nads costs 30 bucks which is a lot of money for simple ingredients. I looked at nads.com to look at their ingredients. They were all natural so those ingredients are very cheap.

This process is called sugaring. Due to a bit of research I found out this isn't exactly a new found invention. This has been actually used in India for many years as well as stringing which is another story. This is a bit painful no matter how much the commercial makes it look so watch out if you hate pain. But after awhile, it will make your hair growth less thick and less frequent. If you hold your skin taut and rip it out quick, it is less painful.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • Half a lemon for the juice
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • A little bit of Molasses if you have any like a drizzle
  • Cornstarch (to powder with for tautness making it more effective)
  • Something to spread the mixture with like a tongue depressor, popsicle stick, cheese spreader or spatula.
  • Cotton fabric (any old thing you can find or buy some strips at a store)
  1. Mix lemon, sugar, and honey in a bowl. Microwave on high for about 2-3 minutes, until it bubbles into a smooth consistency. I find this a lot simpler then turning on the stove, but it would be safer if you watched over the heat on the stove. If you use the stove use LOW heat.
  2. Now move away from the mixture and go do something while it cools a little down so you can touch it safely. A little bit warmer though is better though to use. Microwave it for 20 seconds if you find the need to. The NADS commercial said re heating isn’t necessary, but it’s no big deal doing so and I find it is necessary as all sugaring products do need just a little heating.
  3. Make sure your legs or where ever you wish to place it is clean and dry. Then dust area with cornstarch so it’s more effective as it draws out oil. Spread a thin layer on your leg. Cover with a strip of fabric, and rubbing the strip the opposite way of hair growth, about 3 times.
  4. Grab the fabric end and pull it off very quickly against the direction of the hair growth or the other way if you wish. It will hurt, but after awhile it’s a lot less painful. I am sure you’re strong enough to withstand pain. Reheat the mix if it gets too hard to spread. This stores for a long time. I just use a vitamin E face cream container that’s plastic since that’s fairly big which costs only a buck at the dollar store. Just make sure it's clean and oil free. You could also use a glass jar as well.

Electrolysis is a process of removing hair by the galvanic method (chemical means). The chemical substance formed at the tip of the needle permanently destroy the roots of the hair by electricity .

    Laser :

Light at a specified wavelength is delivered from a hand piece into the skin, where it targets dark material (usually the pigment in hair). This is intended to cause thermal and/or mechanical damage to a hair follicle while sparing surrounding tissues

Advantages of Permanent methods of hair removal.

  • After every sitting the growth of hair becomes finer and eventually stops.
  • Fine hair requires very few removal sessions and gradually the hair growth stops.

Usually air-drying hair is the most preferred way. However, it is always suggested to go natural as it will increase the hair life time and also strengthens your hair as well.

Hair Trimming:

Trimming or cutting of hair on a regular basis not only gets rid of split ends, and will prevent the formation of split ends. Moreover, the more you cut your hair, the more it grows strongly but not in length. If untrimmed, the spilt ends grow up higher into the hair and will finally result in thinning and loss of hair. Moreover, the split-ends usually have a white head at the end of each split that looks very ugly, and makes explicit that hair is not healthy.

Beautiful, healthy and shiny hair is an attractive quality and with these simple and the right hair care tips you can achieve this every single day.

Hair Color: Choose the right one!

Aren’t you satisfied with the hair color God gave you or those gray hairs that insist on reappearing? Why don’t you dye your hair then? Coloring your hair is perhaps the quickest and most dramatic way to change your look. It is also an excuse to go out and buy a new wardrobe of clothes, because you'll find that what suited you as a brunette looks rather drab on a new blonde.

There’s nothing like a great dye job to turn back the clock. Hair color not only covers gray but also boosts volume and shine, makes fine lines, less noticeable, and brightness a dull complexion. There are two types of hair dyes: permanent and semi-permanent, with variations of each.

  • Permanent Tints:
Must be mixed with hydrogen peroxide to lift hair color. The peroxide opens the hair cuticle so that the tint can penetrate the cortex and form the color. The higher the level of peroxide, the quicker and lighter the result.
  • Semi-Permanent Colors:
They don't actually lift the color - you can either vary the tone within your natural highlights or go darker. Quasi-color contains ethanolamine and 3% peroxide which slightly opens the cuticle. This means that the color can last up to 20 washes will softly fade as you shampoo, causing no regrowth problem.
  • Semi-Permanent Vegetable Colors:
Contain only vegetable extracts and natural ingredients, so no color is stripped from your hair. It is similar to henna but it doesn't coat the hair (adds shine though). This color sits on the hair's surface and will wash out after about 8 shampoos. Due to high salon prices, more and more people are dyeing their own hair. You've seen these people walking around-they can usually be identified by tufts of fried orange hair peeking out from beneath large hats. But a home-hair-colorist's best weapons against hair dye mishaps are careful planning and knowledge. But don’t get afraid by doing it yourself. It's actually quite simple: Stick to colors that compliment your skin tone, figure out if you're better off with single-process color or highlights, and then decide if you're going to pay someone else to do it or do it yourself.

Hair color tricks:

Here are some easy hair color tricks on how to avoid the wrong color to how to do it yourself.

Can You Go Blonde?

Some women look good in any color, but most women don't. If you had blonde hair as a kid, you'll likely look good with blonde hair as an adult. You'll also look good blonde if you have pink skin that burns easily, and blue or green eyes.

For blonde inspiration, check out these galleries:

Remember: if you are going the bottle route, never color your hair more than 2 shades lighter than your natural shade.

The Right Way to Go (or Stay) Brown:
If you have super pale skin and brown hair, consider going lighter. Super dark shades can wash you out and even make you appear older. Once you've colored your hair, protect your investment with best products for colored hair.

To Color or to Highlight, That's the Question:

If you have a great base hair tone, you're better off with highlights. You don't want to mess with nature; what you want to do is enhance it. If your base color washes out your skin tone or is "blah," consider single-process color. Single-process color is cheaper than highlights. Highlights look best when the stylist uses at least two different shades. Ask for more around your face, they can brighten your complexion.

Keep in mind that due to root growth, all-over coloring will need to be touched up every four to eight weeks, while highlights can last up to two or three months, depending on what kind you get. Ask your stylist about a gloss treatment following your color. Gloss boosts color and makes hair shinier.

You're Going for Highlights, But Which Kind?

There are basically 4 types of highlights: basic foil highlights, baliage or "hair painting," chunking or "piecing" and lowlighting.

Foil highlights add strands of color to hair. You can get up to 5 different shades in hair to make it look more natural.

Baliage, or "hair painting," allows the stylist to add natural stripes of color to hair in large or smaller swaths. This is best for women with a great base color who want to go just a couple shades lighter. You won't need to get roots touched up as much with baliage as you do foils.

Lowlighting allows the stylist to add darker shades to hair. This gives color more contrast.

Should You Do It Yourself?

Home-color kits have come a long way in the past few years. They are perfect for busy people and those who want cut the cost of professional colorings.

Some great hair coloring kits include:

  • L'Oreal Natural Match Hair Color
  • Clairol Nice and Easy
  • Revlon Color Silk

If You’re going With a Box, Stick With Semi permanent Color:

Semi permanent colors wash out after a few washes, whereas permanent colors have to grow out.

Gray, Gray, Go Away, Don't Come Again:

Gray hair can be resilient to hair dye because of its coarse texture. If your hair is less than 15 percent gray, opt for a semi-permanent color that's a shade lighter than your natural color (or matches your color). Many women who are more than half gray opt to dye their hair blonde.

So You Hate Your Color? Don't Strangle the Stylist:

Don't be afraid to go back to the salon and talk to your stylist if you are not pleased with the results. There are all sorts of ways to fix color that's just not right. If you did it yourself with a semi-permanent color, look for a shampoo with "ammonium laurel sulfate" to wash away the color faster.

Your Color is Gorgeous, Now What?

You invested money for hair color, now protect your investment with color-enhancing shampoo and conditioner once a week. These products deposit miniscule amounts of color into hair. Choose best hair products for color-treated hair.

Uh-Oh. Your Roots Are Growing In:

You can expect your color to last about 6 to 8 weeks before roots begin to show. If your hair is colored, get your roots touched up or do them yourself with a store-bought kit. For this, I suggest Clairol Nice and Easy Root Touch Ups.

If you have highlights or lowlights, avoid having your whole head colored by asking your stylist to do your hairline, crown and part.

A word of warning:

Foil highlights require precise application and fixing dark roots is nearly impossible. Consider baliage, which looks more natural.

Beside all this, you also have to keep in mind some home hair coloring tips before color your hair.

Home hair color tips:

Rub Vaseline around your hairline as a protective measure before applying color. To remove after coloring, rub a small amount of cream cleanser and wipe off with cotton balls. If you forgot the Vaseline and stained your skin, rub the area with a cotton ball soaked in alcohol-based toner.
Always wear gloves and wrap an old dark-colored towel around your shoulders. Rinse your eyes with water if you get color in your eyes.

Hair Color Advice:

The best hair color advice is to learn how to choose the right color and treatment so you can create an exciting new look for every occasion. When it comes to choosing hair color, you should consider what shade will enhance your overall look and what type of treatment works best for your hair texture.

While your ideal hair cut style depends on your face shape, your hair color should be based on a combination of factors including your natural hair color, eye color, and skin tone.

Conditioning -2010 Hair Care Tips and Guide For Teen Girls

Choose conditioner for the state of your hair – which isn’t the same as the state of your scalp. The most normal hair conditions as follows.

1– Dry unmanageable hair usually has a fuzzy outline & often goes with dry scalp & coarse hair.

2– Lank, dull hair frequently goes with a greasy or dandruff-prone scalp & average to coarse hair.

3–splitting, or brittle ends often go with a normal scalp & occur in all hair-texture types.

For dry dull or brittle hair, conditioner is a must. It coats the hair & makes it smooth & shiny. Conditioned hair no longer feels rough & it has extra fullness & body. Lank dull hair needs conditioning too – to give it body. There are totally oil-free conditioners which are ideal for this hair type. Even if your hair is normal, make a concentrated effort to massage conditioner onto the hair ends; by doing so you can often help prevent injury to the hair shaft with the inevitable outcome – split ends. When these occur, the ends of the hair literally open up like a ‘Y’ & a split can travel right up the hair, leaving a series of broken wisps all over the head.

Remember conditioner is the invisible ‘raincoat’ which will help any hair type stand up to bad weather. Curly hair swells up & become s difficult to handle in damp weather; conditioner helps curb this tendency. Long fine hair goes limp at the first sign of dampness; conditioner adds body. Fine wavy hair goes wispy; conditioner helps keep it smooth.

Conditioner is normally applied after shampooing. It will close any open cuticle scales & replaced the natural oils which protect the hair. Left on the hair for a minute or two, a conditioner acts as a detangler & adds shine, body & luster to the hair. Apply conditioner once the hair has been thoroughly rinsed after shampooing. Never massage conditioner into the scalp. Usually, you will only need to apply conditioner from the middle to the ends of the hair; the roots don’t normally need it unless the hair is bleached.

hair-care-tips THE CONDITIONING ROUTINE:

1 — POUR conditioner into the palm of the hand, then gently aqueeze onto the hair.

2–comb the conditioner through the hair to ensure an even spread. if the comb doesn’t slide through easily, don’t tug at the hair. Rather hold the jet of water from the spray head behind the comb & le t the force of the water mix with the conditioner & smooth the path for the comb.

3–leave conditioner on for a minute or two before rinsing hair thoroughly with warm water.

4–if your hair is very dry, reapply conditioner to the ends, about the last 5 cm (2 inches), & then rinse lightly.

5–blot dry with a towel or wrap the hair in a towel-turban which will absorb excess moisture. Never rub at the hair with a towel after conditioning or you will undo all the good work of the conditioner.

DEEP CONDITIONING FORMULAE:

These are for use regularly once a month, or every six weeks, or for times when the hair has become badly damaged through over-exposure to wind or sunshine, sea water or chlorinated water.

For this routine:

1– Massage your scalp, working up warmth.

2– part the hair four ways & smooth conditioner onto each part, starting at the roots if the hair there is showing signs of damage; otherwise being half-way down the hair shaft.

3–wrap your hair in a towel turban & leave your hair for at least 20 minutes.

4–shampoo your hair in the usual way.

To be absolutely honest with you I should tell you the truth – there is pain, a lot of pain especially in the Full Brazilian Wax. The Different Bikini Waxing Styles

Waxing, as opposed to shaving provides a more permanent option when it comes to removing unwanted body hair. It can be the perfect solution for that week at the beach, especially if you want to avoid the itchy, red bumps that generally accompany shaving. Once you have made the decision to wax your bikini area, it’s time to decide on a style that fits your needs the best. There are quite a few different styles of hair removal for the pubic area, and contrary to popular belief they aren’t just geared toward women.

The most basic comes in the form of just waxing the hair on the outside of the panty line. This is commonly known as the Bikini Wax. This one takes off the least amount of hair, and is ideal for the first-time waxer or for those with a low pain threshold. The French Wax also produces similiar results, although it takes of a slightly larger portion of hair. If you plan on hitting the beach, or wearing low rise jeans, this style is ideal for you.

Next is the Brazilian Wax. This one leaves only a small strip of hair, removing the rest from the rest of the genitals. For more experienced waxers, this is a favorite style due to its easy maintenance. If you opt to remove all the hair completely, and go sans stip, this is generally referred to as a Full Brazilian style wax. Going completely bald is probably the easiest style to maintain, since there is no hair to keep styled.

Aside from the basic waxing styles, some people choose to create designs with their hairstyles. Some of the more popular ones are a landing strip, a heart, and an arrow. You can also opt for more complicated designs, although these are much more difficult to achieve correctly at home.

One last thought to take into consideration is that the various bikini waxing styles may be called different names depending on what salon you make your appointment at. Make sure you ask questions if you are unsure of what their versions entail before you let any waxing begin.

How to take care of your Dry Hair

Hair on the whole has a moisture content of about 10%. If your hair's moisture content drops lower than this level the key is to raise the hair's capability of draw and retain moisture. This is accomplished by means of moisturizers.

Good ones include "humectants" that not simply restore lost moisture but actually catch the attention of moisture and keep hold of it in the cortex of the hair. Essential fatty aids (EFA's) are great moisturizers. One of the top and most cost effectual essential fatty acids is safflower oil. It is the type you can buy to cook with and it is very rich in EFA's. The scalp produces the top EFA's called sebum. The problems is once the hair grows past the neck line or does not have straight contact with the scalp the scalps natural oils can not be used right through the hair shaft.

You can manually restore the lost EFA's by:
    * Placing 1 or 2 drops of safflower oil in your palms and massage them together. * There should only be enough to make your hands "shine" in the light. * Cautiously take your hair (while dry) and "scrunch" the small amount of oil to the ENDS first and work toward the scalp. * Leave this in your hair. * 1-2 drops of safflower oil on dry hair is as a result small, you won't see it is there.
By doing the above as often as essential will make sure your dry hair will have the proper amount of humectants to pull towards you and retain moisture. The key is to facilitate a small amount will go a long way.

How to take care of your Oily Hair
Oily hair is a common complaint among teenagers. Because of excess sebum production our hair is oily. This leaves the hair greasy and unattractive.
If you have oily hair, it is essential to wash your hair on a daily basis. This is for the reason that oily hair has a tendency to accumulate dirt as compared to other hair types.
For oily hair do not use conditioners use only shampoos, make sure while choosing a shampoo that it does not contain conditioner in it. Such kind of shampoo is available easily in the market and is cheap compared to shampoos with conditioners.
If you think that you need a conditioner, and then use a conditioner which is very mild. Apply the conditioner only at the tips and in the middle do not apply at the roots and scalp and take care that you rinse it completely. Do not select products, which have silicone, oils, or lanolin.
Massaging the hair is essential for oily hair. Instead of applying lotions or oils, you can use a toning lotion (which removes dead cells) to massage oily hair with regular brushing. This helps hair growth. A regular massage habit is necessary. Avoid applying oil to the hair as possible.
You can also try the following remedies:
Mix 4 tablespoons of lemon juice with 1 cup water and apply to your hair for 15 min and rinse with warm water.
Mix 1/4 cup of cider vinegar with a basin of water and apply to your hair for 15 min and rinse with warm water.
Try to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day and eat fresh fruits and vegetables to keep your self hydrated.
