Prolong Perfume’s Staying Power

Warm weather, frequent showers and swimming have a tendency to change your skin’s chemistry, so alter your fragrance accordingly. When you sweat, perfume evaporates. Re-apply it throughout the day or layer with similarly scented bath gel and body lotion. In Mississippi, where it gets really hot, a lot of women spray their clothing instead of their skin, or they’ll spray their rollers to make their hair smell delicious. Fresh scents inspired by the Deep South, such as magnolia and sweet tea, are perfect for a romantic summer evening. Keep a bottle in the fridge for a quick pick-me-up on sweltering days.

Chill Your Beauty Products

Look to your kitchen to help you chill out and look gorgeous. Toners and milky cleansers should be kept inside your fridge for a quick morning pick-me-up—the cooling sensation feels amazing. Chilled yogurt can be used as a mask to restore your skin’s PH balance and soothe irritations from external aggressors like sun and wind. Add ¼ tablespoon of honey to one tablespoon of all-natural, plain yogurt for extra hydration.

Air Dry Your Hair

Air-drying isn’t for everyone, especially women with frizz-prone hair, so switch to an ionic hair dryer (it dries faster without frying) and use the cool setting whenever possible. You can create extra volume by lifting with your fingers at the roots since humidity makes hair limp. Blow dry the top of the head, working your way to the ends so you don’t over-dry them. A paper towel can work wonders in lieu of a regular towel for soaking up moisture without roughing up the cuticle.

Grow Out Your Hair

Summer is a fine time for growing out your ‘do, since hot weather speeds up the process. Even so, it’s important to schedule regular trims every six to eight weeks to nix split, dried-out ends. Summer is a great time to have a fling with a brand new style. Long layers will give your hair more movement and make it feel lighter; a sleek, chin-length bob is a stylish way to keep your hair off your neck
